Tipton County's largest town

Hydroseeding in Atoka, TN

A railroad town that became a fast-growing suburb on higher ground.

  • We walk every site before quoting, and the quote comes in writing
  • Grass picked for how much sun, shade and season your yard actually gets
  • A watering plan left with every new lawn

From Railroad Stop to Neighborhoods

Hydroseeding in Atoka keeps pace with some of the fastest growth in the Memphis area. The town had only 659 people at the 1990 census and 10,008 in 2020, making it the largest municipality in Tipton County. That jump came through new subdivisions, and each one needs graded lots turned into lawns before the first heavy rain carries the topsoil away.

Higher ground than Memphis

Atoka sits at about 433 feet, close to 100 feet above Memphis. Higher, rolling terrain means more lots with noticeable fall from front to back. On those we pay attention to where runoff goes, shape swales during final grading, and use a heavier mulch or blankets on any bank steeper than a gentle lawn slope.

Plan for spring storms

On April 21, 1928 a tornado struck Atoka and damaged much of the business district. Spring storms are still part of life here. When seeding in spring we aim to get the mulch down promptly after grading, so bare soil is not exposed to a heavy storm for days.

Builder and homeowner work

For builders we offer lot-by-lot hydroseeding, silt fence installation and inlet protection. For homeowners moving into new houses, we do lawn installation on yards the builder left rough, adding topsoil and fine grading where needed.

Between the river and the highway

Atoka lies just east of the Mississippi River, with U.S. 51 along its western edge. Commercial lots near the highway need fast, tidy cover once building is done.

Can you seed several lots at once for a builder?

Yes. Batching lots in one trip keeps costs down and gets cover on bare ground sooner.
